Expected funnier
I LOVE King of Queens, I love his character on there. I think I went to the event expecting more "Doug Heffernan" but I didn't get it. He made no references at all to the show or characters, which I feel was a mistake on his part since most people know him from that show. Would've been nice to hear him acknowledge that character in some way, but he didn't. Someone in the crowd yelled "We love you Doug Heffernan" and he kinda blew it off. It's like when you go to a concert and they play new music. And this is my own perception but I felt like he rambled on with his stories that weren't really that funny at all but he drug them out. Made a ton of references to his wife, ughhh. It felt like he was grasping at straws really. I would have rather had 45 minutes of short funny stories instead of an hour of long drawn out stories that I could hear at any family reunion. I was disappointed that after a long hiatus with Covid, he wasn't able to really pull out some funny material and wow us with it. He has the ability - I've seen his stand up on TV and it was good, I guess I just expected more. I expected more of the Doug personality and Kevin was very opinionated about vaccines and other issues that I felt didn't have a place at a comedy show.
